i believe it took us a while but in the end everbody figured out how to create value in their artwork. i think that moving to something else then back to the artwork we were working on before helped alot too because we pretty much had a fresh look a it after taking a break.

I like this drawing better than my previous one. I think the marks I made were interesting and made the piece more complex. My fabric turned out better also because of the marks I made to connect the fabric as a whole. My gourds seem more realistic this time because of my use of shadowing and the variation in chalks. The drawing did get away from me a little bit. It just starting getting kind of tedious. I do think it was good to look back at them because sometimes you forget what made it work or didn’t. I am pretty happy with how these drawings turned out and I think everyone in the class did a great job.

it was hard, but i think i improved my picture.
even just fixing the simple things like continuing the line of my gourd up the page where the hinges of my drawing board clipped on.
other than that, i was able to add more of a gradient and roundness to the largest gourd on my picture and made the other objects stand out by adding more white against the background.
i’m satisfied and think it turned out well.

I think that coming back to the drawing, as hard as it was, made it better. We got a break from looking at the boring gourds and then had a fresh view on them. After working on my drawing again, I feel I have a greater value range. I also have more contrast between my foreground, middle ground, and background. Also, by blending my gourds shadows, I think it gives them more depth.

Even though it was a hassle to come back to the same piece of art again, I think it was good because we were able to see our pictures in another light and just get a new perspective. I think I did some good improvements and I was able to make the value range broader and more define!

I believe that this took a lot of time and concentration. i think it helped to take a break from it and come back. it helped for things to not get so mushed together.
