As I said, this is a bare MINIMUM of 2 HOURS, really more than that, is the time I’m asking you to do this.
- On the paper I provided, (Or if not, a 5×7 maximum piece of paper cut to size***)
- Sharpie pens.
- Line and value. You decide how much value will make a good drawing.
You will need to think about this before you draw, maybe move some things around before you draw. I am asking you to make important decisions about WHAT you decide to draw. I am asking you to decide HOW you might make a great composition.
Assignment option #1
A dining room interior and a view of the exterior through the window. I want to see plates and other things on the table. Consider the elements I want to see outside the window.
Composition is VERY important You decide what IS included, what is NOT included, but you should decide to include things because it makes a better composition, is more interesting. How much is too much? How little is just too boring.
Assignment option # 2
A room with objects in it, and a view to the outdoors. It could be the bathroom, the garage, the basement, whatever as long as it is interesting. I want to be able to tell what sort of room I’m in by the objects that are there. I want to be able to to see outside.
Composition is VERY important. You decide what IS included, what is NOT included. You decide how much detail you will use. How much is too much? How little is just too boring.
I don’t understand how you’ve expected us to do value with a black marker. We can all try, but that seems almost impossible.
It’s a line drawing just like the last still life assignment you did in pencil, think back to that assignment.
But this is a step ahead, of that, think back to our last class when you were outside looking up or down at objects and angles of buildings.
You were also deciding what to draw and what not to draw. You were deciding how to make an interesting composition.
